To prevent global catastrophes, an international network of satellites called “Dutch Boy” is built to regulate the weather. However, when these satellites malfunction and cause a deadly storm that threatens the planet, former astronaut and scientist Jake Lawson (Gerard Butler) is called back to fix the system. As he investigates, Jake uncovers a conspiracy to sabotage the weather-controlling satellites, leading to a race against time to prevent a global geostorm that could devastate humanity.
The movie explores themes of global cooperation, technology, and environmental control, as the protagonists must navigate political tensions and corporate corruption while dealing with the impending disaster. Amid the thrilling action sequences and intense weather phenomena, Geostorm also delves into family dynamics, as Jake works to mend his strained relationship with his brother Max (Jim Sturgess).
